Everyone Deserves The Right To Be Swooned 🌈
Swoonies, how are you all feeling about the restrictions lifting? It is an exciting, but scary thought. A year of reflection for lots of people – the Swoon Room included – and a time where maybe we have all realised the importance of human connection.
We want to tell you about one of our amazing clients Mrs Toasty Type. She’s been a loyal Swoonie for a while now and runs her own amazing calligraphy business Toasty Type (peep her fabulous work here). Sadly, her much loved brother lost his fight against colon cancer during lockdown, but out of this terrible tragedy she has found the strength to design a range of cards that find humour in the darkness of cancer treatment. Not only this, but 100% of the proceeds go to the wonderful charity Cancer Support Scotland (to learn more about their amazing work click here).
She has a great sense of humour and even more courage. We are so proud to be able to tell you about this great cause. Lets all give cancer the (manicured) finger!
Another human we are immensely proud to know is the one and only drag superstar LAWRENCE CHANEY!!! Winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK and sporting a custom set of press-on nails in the finale, created by the unbelievably talented Holly Swoon. Congratulations Queen, and long may you reign!
The Swoon Room is a safe space for all and we will not tolerate any form of bigotry – be that towards our LGBTQIA+ peers, racism, sexism, ableism – or any kind of hatred. All are welcome and we believe that good nails are for whoever wants them.
If you are interested in getting Swooned but are unsure about the process, or have never been to a salon before drop us a line here – any questions or concerns you may have please get in touch and we promise we can put your mind at ease.
It may be worth mentioning that you don’t need to come to the Swoon Room to be part of the gang. You can join us from the comfort of your home with your very own set of custom nails, created for you with love. Use the same contact form above to start the consultation process!
To clients that don’t feel comfortable with the salon being an inclusive space we get that not understanding something can often be the root of any fears and concerns. There are some brilliant online resources that can be accessed to learn more about the LGBTQIA+ community.
We love LGBT Health & Wellbeing not only because they are a Scottish based organisation, but because of their easily accessible range of resources designed to educate our communities. If you fancy a look at the fantastic work they do click here!
We love spreading the love – if you have a product or project from a local hero you would like us to feature get in touch. We all deserve a boost after the year we have had!
Love,
The Swoon Gals xx
